AWL Queensland
A brighter future for all animals

We first opened our doors and hearts to animals in need in 1959. Today we care for around 15,000 stray and abandoned animals annually in our re-homing centres and through our fostering and rehabilitation programs. Our re-homing centres are located at Beenleigh, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.

Thanks to the generous support of the community, we have achieved our goal of zero euthanasia of healthy and sociable cats and dogs in our care. AWLQ has not had to euthanase a healthy or sociable dog since June 2008 or healthy and sociable cat since May 2009. We have been striving to reach this goal for the past 53 years and are both proud and inspired by this remarkable achievement, unmatched in a city of this size anywhere else in Australia. This achievement simply would not have been possible without community support – we thank all those who support us in creating a brighter future for animals. Visit our web site for more details
