The AWLA Team

AWL New South Wales
Caring for pets and their people

We have been caring for animals in need for over half a century. Every year thousands of animals who have been surrendered, neglected or abandoned by their owners are taken in and cared for through our two animal welfare shelters, our veterinary hospital, our foster care program or our 13 volunteer branches across NSW.  We also have a team of Inspectors who are on the ground every day protecting animals, providing emergency rescue and enforcing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Each pet available for adoption is temperament assessed by a qualified behaviour team to ensure they are well matched to a forever home where pets and their people are  both happy with the arrangement. In addition, we ensure every pet available for adoption is vet checked, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated. Visit our web site for more details
